As part of our commitment to investing in our people, NFT Distribution has pioneered the development of an in-house Driver Training Academy. With qualified instructors at many of our sites, we are now able to train drivers to LGV Class C+E status and to put them through the driving test. Many of our existing staff have taken the opportunity to re-train as drivers and the option to apply is open to all employees after a qualifying period and an interview process.
Our trainers are also able to assess drivers within the NVQ Professional Driver qualification, and many of our drivers have already successfully completed the course.
NFT have received an award from the Learning Skills Council for their work in this area, and we look forward to developing the Academy still further.
