NFT, the UK’s leading provider of time critical logistics solutions within the food retail and manufacturing sectors has won the contract to distribute Uniq’s sandwiches to the award-winning retailer, Marks and Spencer.

As one of the countries largest sandwich manufacturers, and accounting for over 60% of M&S’s volume, this is a prestigious contract which is set to run for 3 years.

According to The British Sandwich Association, the UK market for sandwiches bought ‘on the go’ is currently worth £2.8 billion, equating to close to 1.7 billion sandwiches.

With M&S renowned for its innovation excellence in the food-to-go arena, Uniq have ambitious targets, producing daily on average 250,000 units, for delivery to depot that NFT have to support through its network capability.

Anthony Quinn, Logistics Manager at Uniq Northampton said: “When we sought to strengthen our partnership with M&S through improvements in the supply chain NFT stood out as the logical choice to handle our distribution. With really short life products and a short lead ordering profile, it’s essential that we have a logistics partner who can consistently deliver the freshest products in a time critical environment. With their highly flexible and responsive approach, I’m confident NFT will effectively meet those needs”.

Dale Fiddy, Sales & Marketing Director for NFT adds: “I am greatly looking forward to establishing a strong partnership with Uniq. We have challenging targets to meet but I am positive that NFT will further enhance the strategic partnership in the food-to-go arena between M&S and Uniq. With our ‘New Fresh Thinking’ approach and our dedication to customer satisfaction, we continue to be the intelligent link between manufacturer and retailer.”
